いざ、竹富島の「星のや」へ
ロンドンから戻った翌日、時差など無視して、
早朝からまた飛行機に乗り込み
石垣島からフェリーで竹富島へ向かいました。
どれほど待ち焦がれたことでしょう！
島内には3つの集落があり、島全体が
西表石垣国立公園に指定され、
集落の町並みは重要伝統的建造物群保存地区に制定され、
本当に昔のママの貴重な情景が残されています。
リゾートに到着して驚きました！
まるで4つめの豪華な集落ができたようです。
島の決まり事も､伝統も､環境にも配慮して
造られた「星のや 竹富島」は
「星のや」が軽井沢に種を捲き、次いで京都に芽が吹き、
ここ3軒目となる竹富島に花開いたような気がしました。
自然のままにある島の自然とともに、
オープン間もないながら、すっかり島の集落のようです。
リゾートでは、食事だって地産地消。
創作フレンチ「琉球ヌーヴェル」が新鮮素材で作られ、
八重山の薫りをテーブルに運んでくれます。
4泊した後、東京に戻った瞬間からなんだか懐かしく、
またすぐに飛んで行きたくなりました！
それに、日本にこんなリゾートが
生まれたことが誇らしいです。
Off to "Hoshinoya" in Taketomi Island
The day after I returned from London, and still with a jetlag, boarded yet another plane to Ishigaki Island, followed by a ferry ride to the Taketomi Island.
How I have waited for this Resort !
The entire Taketomi Island, consisting of three villages, is designated as Iriomote-Ishigaki National Park. Each of the villages has been preserved exactly in its original form as they are certified historic architectural preservation areas.
I was surprised upon my arrival at the resort. It seems like a gorgeous fourth village had appeared. "Hoshinoya Taketomi Island" was built based on the island’s traditions and rituals with consideration to the environment. "Hoshinoya" first planted its seed in Karuizawa, sprouted in Kyoto, and finally came to full bloom in their third resort, Taketomi Island.
Despite being newly opened, the resort with its natural demeanor has blended in to the island. Their Fusion French "Ryukyu Nouvelle" prepared with fresh local ingredients, bring the taste of the local Yaeyama Islands to the table.
After four nights stay, I missed Taketomi the moment I landed back in Tokyo, and was tempted to fly right back. I feel a great sense of pride that such a wonderful resort opened in Japan.
